Denise Garvey, the new group's choreographer and the former Dallas Cowboys Cheerleader and New York Knicks City Dancer, was at the Jets' Sunday practice at Fordham. Veteran left guard Pete Kendall returned to work and even worked with the first offense at times, but at other times he was with the twos. He was kind of a 1½. He started the day with the second team behind Adrien Clarke, then would move in with the first offense for a while before being replaced by Clark.

Eric Mangini had words of praise for Shaun Ellis, Kerry Rhodes and Jonathan Vilma at this morning's news conference before the OTA practice, and it wasn't just for general excellence in the weightroom but specifically for their leadership on the field during the workouts.

It's rare but not unheard of for Eric Mangini to get to a news conference late, as he did Saturday afternoon. Twenty minutes after his scheduled 4:25 p.m. start following the afternoon practice at the New York Jets' rookie minicamp, he took to the podium with a mea culpa.
