A Score of Sixth Picks That Run the Gamut

File Under: draft, Richard Seymour, sixth overall selection, Lawrence Phillips, Johnathan Sullivan, David Klingler, Walter Jones, Tim Brown, Torry Holt

The Jets own the sixth overall selection in this weekend’s draft. It got us thinking which player was selected in the same slot last year, and then we ultimately decided to examine the past two decades.

2007 — Washington Redskins: LaRon Landry, S, LSU

On their Website, the 'Skins tout Landry as “a Pro Bowl caliber safety.” The 6’0”, 213-pounder definitely impressed in his rookie campaign, to… More

Plax Predicts; Seymour: 'Talk Is Cheap'

File Under: Eli Manning, Richard Seymour, Osi Umenyiora, Plaxico Burress, Super Bowl XLII, Media Day

Super Bowl XLII Media Day has come and gone, and as always it was a zoo. A pleasant zoo, with lots of late-night television shows represented and Mexican TV stunts involving puppets and women proposing marriage to almost every Giant and Patriot.

Kellen: No Giveaways vs. (Media) Rush

File Under: Chad Pennington, Eric Mangini, Chris Baker, Kellen Clemens, Richard Seymour

Clarke: 'It Doesn't Feel Good at All'

File Under: Eric Mangini, Adrien Clarke, Kellen Clemens, Richard Seymour, Albert Haynesworth

Say what you want about Adrien Clarke, but even when he's sitting in front of his locker, he's a standup guy.

My good friend Tom Rock from Newsday had a tough question and had to pose it. He asked Clarke during today's media session to revisit the heavy pressure the Jets' left guard allowed on the second offensive play to New England's Richard Seymour on Sunday, which resulted in Eugene Wilson's … More

Jets-Patriots: First Quarter

File Under: Kellen Clemens, Leon Washington, Tom Brady, Richard Seymour, Eugene Wilson

We're off and running. Mike Nugent kicks off, puts the ball over the goal line, and this time Ellis Hobbs doesn't go 100-plus yards the other way. He gets the ball to the Patriots 26.

On third down, a variation of the "cloud" alignment with only Dewayne Robertson down, four other "LBs" standing up. Tom Brady still completes a short pass to Wes Welker, who squeezes through for a first down.
