Rookie of the Week? Sanchez Is Two Much

File Under: Jets Flight Crew, Rex Ryan, Craig Hentrich, Reggie Hodges, Bart Scott, Mark Sanchez, Pepsi NFL Rookie of the Week, Keith Bulluck, Ahmard Hall, Rob Bironas

Mark Sanchez is 2-for-2.

The Jets rookie quarterback was voted the Pepsi NFL Rookie of the Week for the second time in this two-week-old season, the league announced this afternoon.

Sanchez bounced back from a first half in which the Jets had minus-2 net passing yards to complete 14 of 22 passes for 163 yards and one touchdown in the Jets' 16-9 win over their AFC East rivals, the New England Pat… More

Hodges, Pakulak: Concentrated Competition

File Under: Ben Graham, Michael Vick, Rex Ryan, Kris Jenkins, Calvin Pace, Reggie Hodges, Mark Sanchez, Glenn Pakulak

The Jets' latest punting derby is still running. Perhaps it will be decided Thursday night when the Jets play the Eagles. While the Green & White starters will play only a series, head coach Rex Ryan and special teams coordinator Mike Westhoff will be patiently waiting all game for a "starting" punter to jump out at them.

Parrish Cops New Chance to Punt in the Pros

File Under: Mike Westhoff, Rex Ryan, Reggie Hodges, T.J. Conley, Ken Parrish, Andy Lee

“A lot of fluky things were… More

Reggie Hodges' New Competitor: Ken Parrish

File Under: Mike Westhoff, Wallace Wright, Rex Ryan, Reggie Hodges, T.J. Conley, Ken Parrish

The Jets’ punting game took a new twist at this afternoon’s special teams workout. No. 5 was on the Cortland Stadium turf loosening up, and that was still Reggie Hodges.

No. 9 was also running and stretching, but the man wearing the number was no longer T.J. Conley. It was Ken Parrish, the free agent punter who was signed by the Jets after passing his morning tryout with special teams coaches… More

THE REX BOX: The Punt Hunt

File Under: Rex Ryan, Reggie Hodges, T.J. Conley, Ken Parrish

Quarterbacks are obviously on the minds of many Green & White fans, but Rex Ryan has another position he’s been seriously kicking around in his head.

“I’m tired of seeing groundballs being hit,” the head coach said about some of the kicks by the two punters on the Jets’ roster, Reggie Hodges and T.J. Conley. “We’ve got to do better than that. Our guys know that, so we’ll see. You watch some pra… More
