A Weekend of Good Deeds Back Home

File Under: Chad Pennington, Matt Chatham, Jerricho Cotchery, Kerry Rhodes, Leon Washington, Brandon Moore, Sioux City, Birmingham Alabama

It was a weekend of homecomings for at least three Jets vets.

WR Jerricho Cotchery and S Kerry Rhodes returned to their Alabama roots — along with some of their Green & White friends — to give the kids of the Birmingham area some fun and games, a football camp, and some words of inspiration.

"I wanted to give kids in Birmingham opportunities I didn't have," Cotchery told the Birmingham News.… More

Chatham Stages a Sioux City Extravaganza

File Under: Matt Chatham, Brad Smith, Iowa, Mike Nugent, tim dwight, Sioux City, Soft Bowl I

Matt Chatham's got a lot going on these days. He and wife Erin are proud parents — I should've mentioned Matt in my Father's Day tribute featuring Leon Washington last week — of Lex William Chatham, born May 11.

And Chatham's also going back to his roots this weekend as he hosts a charity softball game in his hometown of Sioux City, Iowa. Matt Chat, a graduate of North High, has even given th… More

They're good at the BP. Not the Bill Parcells but the Bi… More

Jets-Cowboys: Second Quarter

File Under: Snow, Matt Chatham, Tony Romo, Jason Witten

Snow has actually begun to drift lightly down through the hole in the Texas Stadium roof, although it's not reaching the field.

So slippery footing isn't the excuse when Tony Romo finds TE Jason Witten past Matt Chatham, just in the game at OLB, and too far away from Kerry Rhodes. It's a 25-yard scoring pass, Witten's sixth of the season. And while it's too early for the Jets to throw in the to… More

No. 58 Back in the Old Familiar Places

File Under: Matt Chatham, Brad Smith, special teams, Wallace Wright, Terrence McGee, opening kickoff

Special Teams Saturday on newyorkjets.com welcomes the return of one of the Green & White's "teams" stalwarts to action. There on last Sunday's opening kickoff, third man from the left end of the line, No. 58 was back in one of his elements.

"I wasn't real sentimental about it. I was just getting back to work," Matt Chatham said. But, he said, warming to the topic, "As a player, you kind of like … More
