Coach Unveils His New Camp Schedule

File Under: Chad Pennington, Eric Mangini, Nick Mangold, Laveranues Coles, Chris Baker, Kellen Clemens, Kerry Rhodes, Kris Jenkins

The unofficial time was 1:54:30. That's as in 1 hour, 54 minutes and 30 seconds. That's as in the length of this morning's first full-squad practice of training camp, from start of stretching to breakup of practice-ending huddle.

As Eric Allen detailed in last week's report on head coach Eric Mangini's classroom session and news conference with reporters, Mangini talked of scaling back this year'… More

Coles Catches, Runs; Revis Prevents Same

File Under: Chad Pennington, Darrelle Revis, Justin Miller, Laveranues Coles, Kellen Clemens, Wallace Wright, Brett Ratliff, Kareem Brown, Vernon Gholston, Calvin Pace

This afternoon's practice, the final workout of the Jets' full-squad minicamp, featured the catch of the camp plus an uprising from the first defense.

The catch was turned in by Laveranues Coles on a 7-on-7 pass from Chad Pennington. Coles and CB Justin Miller had some substantial but incidental contact (no flag was thrown), with Miller going down and Coles stumbling coming out of the contact — a… More

Veteran tight end Chri… More

This Week 'Very Exciting' for Justin Miller

File Under: Darrelle Revis, Eric Mangini, Justin Miller, Laveranues Coles, David Barrett, Hank Poteat, Andre Dyson, Derrick Strait, Deion Sanders

Justin Miller was in a playful mood — he rarely isn't — after Thursday's OTA practice, when he was surrounded by more reporters than since his Game 2 injury last September.

I asked him if one play he was in on that day, the end zone pass from Chad Pennington that Laveranues Coles couldn't hold, was kind of a significant play, indicative of his first reps with the Jets in a long time.

Hail, Hail: Nice Plays Before, After the Precip

File Under: Chad Pennington, Eric Mangini, Eric Barton, Laveranues Coles, Mike Nugent, Kellen Clemens, Bubba Franks, Danny Woodhead

Today's Jets OTA (Organized Team Activity) was impacted by a little EWA (Extreme Weather Activity). Midway through the session, a foreboding patch of dark gray clouds opened up over the Jets' upper grass practice field. For 10 minutes, it poured cold rain and even hail.

Reporters and even some team personnel headed for cover. I tried to tough it out but, wearing the same clothes that I expected t… More
