AFCE Trends: Dolphins' Fumble-Return TDs

File Under: Kellen Clemens, Jason Taylor, Miami Dolphins, Will Allen, Michael Lehan

In the Looking for a Silver Lining Dept., the Miami Dolphins, despite their 1-15 record, did continue a long-standing positive tradition of theirs, and they continued it in their Week 13 game against the Jets.

In that game, you'll recall, CB Will Allen blitzed and executed a strip sack of Kellen Clemens in the second quarter. Safety Michael Lehan picked up the loose ball and took it 43 yards for … More

Jets-Dolphins: Second Quarter

File Under: Eric Barton, Brad Smith, Kellen Clemens, Jason Taylor, John Beck, Cameron Worrell, Joey Porter

Then the middle of the line opens up for an Eric Barton blitz. John Beck unloads quickly for the incompletion and Brandon Fields puts a beautiful spiral into the South Florida sky. Unfortunately for Dolfans, it bounces once on the South Florida grass of Dolphin Stadium and into the end zone for a touchback.

Jets-Dolphins: First Quarter

File Under: Laveranues Coles, Kerry Rhodes, Leon Washington, Jason Taylor, Jesse Chatman, Andre Goodman

The visitors' pressbox is located on the corner of the Dolphin Stadium end zone, giving a good three-quarters view of action. Laveranues Coles puts on a burst and separates past the Miami safeties to gather in Kellen Clemens' 32-yard post completion to the 'Fins 30.

You Can Count on Chad's Cadence

File Under: Dolphins, Bills, Chad Pennington, Jason Taylor, hard count, Rockpile

When Chad Pennington returned under center against Miami, his killer hard count returned with him.

Pennington, who drew two presnap penalties against the Patriots in the opener, got four more on the Dolphins on Sunday. Three of the flags were thrown on Jason Taylor, who in his 14 previous games combined vs. the Jets since 2000 had been called for only two presnap penalties.

One of those Taylor i… More

Jets-Dolphins: Third Quarter

File Under: Chad Pennington, Thomas Jones, Mike Nugent, Leon Washington, Jason Taylor

The Jets open the third quarter with a little bit of what they ended the second with: a drive to a score. Three different RBs — Leon Washington, Thomas Jones and Brad Smith (on a reverse) — got carries. Jason Taylor was caught offside twice. And Mike Nugent punched through a 21-yard field goal to finish the possession that took almost one-half of the third period.
