Chatham, Poteat, Pociask Among Final Cuts

Today is "Final Cut Day" in the NFL, and the Jets announced 22 player moves to get down to the NFL's 53-player maximum.

Two Jets veterans are at the top of the list as LB Matt Chatham and DB Hank Poteat were released. Eighteen other players were waived, and veteran S Cameron Worrell was placed on injured reserve (a correction from an earlier report in which we stated he was waived/injured).

All Hands Appeared to Be on Deck

In the last training camp practice before the first preseason game, the Jets were hitting their stride and holding onto the leather.

WR Wallace Wright had a couple of nice catches, both from Kellen Clemens. One came on a zinger off a rollout. The second went to the back of the end zone, with Wright hanging on as he was thrown close to the playclock just off the back corner.

For those who asked about Bryan Thomas, No. 99 played a major role during today's second training camp practice that just concluded at Hofstra.

Early on, Kellen Clemens tried to laser a pass to TE Dustin Keller (Kellen-to-Keller). But Keller couldn't hold it and the fans in the stands let out a collective groan, as if to say, "Dustin, how could you?" Meanwhile, Thomas raised his hands to the sky.

You wouldn't confuse the first five days of Jets training camp with a mixed martial arts competition. Hard-hitting? Yes, but only to a point. As running backs hit the holes, for instance, you would hear the bellows from the assistant coaches: "STAY UP!"
