Coles Inactive; Start Streak Ends

File Under: Jacob Bender, Laveranues Coles, Kellen Clemens, Will Montgomery, Chris Davis, Santana Moss

There are a lot of interesting sights on the Meadowlands turf this morning. Kellen Clemens is one of them, in black sweats and sporting that white Jets ski cap look as he runs around the turf and airs out his arm.

It will be Clemens' first home regular-season start, after all. (His only other start at the Meadowlands was for Philadelphia to close the 2006 preseason.) He was one of the first out t… More

Harris as a Starter Is No Stretch

File Under: Jacob Bender, David Harris, Matt Chatham, Mike DeVito, Sal Alosi

It's a beautiful day for the Jets-Bills game at the New Jersey Meadowlands, mostly sunny, temps in the upper 50s. The wind is a bit gusty, though, which could play havoc with the kicking games — and, with any luck for the Green & White, with the passes of rookie QB Trent Edwards, who is making his first NFL road start after three home starts at equally gusty Ralph Wilson Stadium.

Both Chad and Kellen Are on the Field

File Under: Chad Pennington, Jacob Bender, Kellen Clemens, Ravens, Jonathan Ogden

There has been no announcement of who the Jets' starting quarterback will be yet, and I don't expect one until the Jets offense takes the field. But as the Jets started running their drills, Clemens was ta… More

Green Teams Ready to Get It On

File Under: Chad Pennington, Jacob Bender, Philadelphia, Donovan McNabb, Glenn Foley

The Jets have been in the Philadelphia/South Jersey area since Wednesday afternoon, having bused to their hotel in Cherry Hill — home of Glenn Foley, veteran Jets fans will remember — from their annual kickoff luncheon in Manhattan.

A few players, we hear, even took some free time during the day to go to Center City (that's what Philadelphians call midtown) to sample some of the fare from a l… More

1st Offense: 'No Excuses ... Not Alarming'

File Under: Chad Pennington, Jacob Bender, Eric Mangini, Nick Mangold, Adrien Clarke

The Jets were upbeat in their locker room because of their 20-12 comeback win over the Giants tonight. And they were not beating themselves up over their first offense's shortcomings.

"It's good this is happening now and that we can figure things out with two weeks to go," QB Chad Pennington said, "and we're not trying to look at things three or four weeks into the season and saying, 'What are we… More
