E.Coleman Had a Winning Personality

File Under: Eric Mangini, Erik Coleman, Tom Brady, Abram Elam

Lost in the Jets' signing frenzy of the last week was the departure of a veteran player with a positive attitude. Safety Erik Coleman, who was an unrestricted free agent, signed with the Atlanta Falcons on Saturday.

As always, the special teams coordinator had a refreshing take on things, such as Ellis Hobbs' NFL-record 108-yard kickoff return against his coverage unit last Sunday.

Late Practice: Pop Goes the Defense

File Under: Erik Coleman, Eric Smith, Bobby Hamilton, hit of the first day, Raymond Ventrone

The Jets got a little bit of relief for their second practice of their first day of training camp. The weather cooled off, with a South Shore breeze picking up and some storm clouds moving in. And head coach Eric Mangini had his players in shells rather than full pads.

Mangini sported a different look. Instead of his usual black practice shirt, which he had on in the morning, he wore a white top.… More
