'We're Going Through This for a Reason'

File Under: Shaun Ellis, Miami Dolphins, Rex Ryan, bye week, Braylon Edwards, Calvin Pace, Mark Sanchez

The Jets have reached the midway point of their season today with a 4-4 record overall and a 1-3 mark in the division. After a 3-0 start, which included a signature home victory over the Patriots in Week 2, the Green & White have lost four of five heading into their bye week.

“We’re putting ourselves in a tough situation. You lose three division games — that’s tough,” said OLB Calvin Pace after t… More

Jets Ground & Pound Their Way to the Top

File Under: Miami Dolphins, Calvin Pace, Oakland Raiders, rushing offense

I just love saying "We're No. 1." And so this morning it's my pleasure to confirm that the Jets are the NFL's No. 1 rushing offense for the first time since 2004 and for only the sixth week since 1995.

'D' Delivers Early and Often in Shutout

File Under: Rex Ryan, Calvin Pace, Oakland Raiders, JaMarcus Russell, Jim Leonhard

Braylon's Ready to Roll, Jerricho Is Active

File Under: Jerricho Cotchery, Miami Dolphins, Braylon Edwards, Dustin Keller, Calvin Pace, Mark Sanchez, Land Shark Stadium

The new guy is on the field and he already looks impressive just warming up in the 83-degree night air of north Miami.

Jets WR Braylon Edwards, who arrived in trade with the Browns on Wednesday, has been making a series of slow-motion circus-type catches while fielding TE Dustin Keller's throws and then flipping the ball to Mark Sanchez.

One catch was a leaping one-hander over his head. Another … More

Fly in the Ointment? J-Co Sits Out Practice

File Under: Jerricho Cotchery, Miami Dolphins, Monday Night Football, Rex Ryan, Braylon Edwards, Calvin Pace

The Jets could be "hamstrung" in their plans for integrating WR Braylon Edwards into their offense in time for Monday night at Miami.

Then again, maybe not.

It has to do with WR Jerricho Cotchery's hamstring. Who knew that J-Co's thigh was bothering him until he was listed on Thursday's first injury report of the week leading up to MNF as limited in practice.

Today, head coach Rex Ryan said Cot… More
