File Under: Darrelle Revis, Pete Kendall, Mangini Camp II

07/27 — Mangini Camp II is off and running.

The Jets took the twin fields at Hofstra University's soccer stadium at 8:45 a.m. today under an already hot sun and a high sky to begin their second training camp under head coach Eric Mangini.

The bleachers were half full, with more fans standing along the fences, and when the players broke from their individual drills, they received an ovation. The first loud music of the day was by Mozart.

Of note is who is here and who is not. Veteran guard Pete Kendall is in uniform and practicing. First-round rookie DB Darrelle Revis is not. No word yet on when a contract agreement will be announced.

Also of note is Coach Mangini's weight. It's not where it used to be. Some are saying he's lost 50 pounds or more since the end of last season. Lean and mean.

We'll wrap up the morning practice later and provide a Radar entry from the Mangini news conference and the afternoon practice plus features and transcripts.

"Randy, Any further information on Revis? Reports yesterday said he was close to a deal. I undrstand there's a difference in contract years, but are things looking positive or negative?"
