File Under: Darnell Bing, Andre Woolfolk, Brandon Renkart, Ron Girault
07/29 —
The transactions continue. Late this afternoon the Jets announced the signing of two players and the release of two players, all of them on the defensive side of the ball.
The signees are safety Ron Girault (5'10", 204) and linebacker Brandon Renkart (6'2", 236), both of Rutgers. Girault was released by Kansas City recently, while Renkart had been an unsigned free agent.

The releases from the Jets secondary are safety Darnell Bing of Southern Cal, who was waived, and cornerback Andre Woolfolk, the former 2003 first-round choice of the Chiefs.
Girault will wear uniform No. 43 and Renkart will sport No. 47. Hopefully they're both in prime shape because I am now going out to watch them and the rest of the Jets at today's second practice of the day.

I don't care who they sign or who they release as long as Pennington stays healthy, the defense does their job and the offense helps Pennington, and the brilliant mind of Mangini stays intact this is gonna be the year of the Green and White Express!! GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO JETS!!!!!!!!!!!"

If this guy can get excited by Pennington as a qurterback he must have low expectations or he is a friend of Chad's. And as for Mangini,...a reflection of owneship,...they want to win but they just don't have a nose for talent. Admit it, they lost that vision when Bill left town."

Wed, July 30, 2008 - 10:52am EDT"nose for talent? ... the new york jets front office went out this year and added depth to their depth chart the changes made.. are statements to WIN NOW!! remember we lost to the pats by ten last year in the second meeting i truly feel that if they can get past the pats the jets will go all the way!! we now have one of the best offensive lines in the league our defense will be the most feared "

Wed, July 30, 2008 - 11:25am EDT"The anti Chad/pro Favre Posts are ingnorance personafied...The Jets as an organization has a committed plan of drafting and filling holes thru free agency and trades, when you change quarterbacks because of"arm strength" pretending that an old man can take you to the promised land you will surely be disappointed...(check out YA Tittle..Giant dream unfullfilled) Favres presence will only set back "

Wed, July 30, 2008 - 11:50am EDT"I bleed Green and for the Jets not to make that move for Favre is crazy. Trade Chad and a draft pick for Favre and explain to Favre what it means to play in New York. Not only would he make the Jets a sudden Deep Threat but now our Running game opens up a lot more knowing GODFAVRE can throw the Ball like a animal"

So we need to turn the page and deal with what we have and forget the day dreaming!! If he really wanted to play for us he would have been wearing green & white already!! Give Clemens a shot!!! Chad had his chance!!!!!"

Wed, July 30, 2008 - 2:15pm EDT"Everyone keeps saying "Get Farve, Get Farve". Riddle me this... if we do get Farve, release Chad, and keep an ever-worse looking Kellen Clemens, where do we turn when Brett Farve decides to retire at the end of this season? That being said, good to see some RU products staying local."

Wed, July 30, 2008 - 4:49pm EDT"Gotta try for Favre, regardless (age, money, draft picks). But if he isnt interested, then oh well, his loss! We can make a playoff run with a good QB. Our D played great down the stretch last year and we got even better in the off season on paper....so I think Brett could have alot of opportunities to put up some nice numbers in NY (maybe 21-26 TD's and 3000 yds). Plus a run game...lookout!"

Wed, July 30, 2008 - 8:15pm EDT"Guess you're happy with Chad's 15 yard bombs. Get rid of him. Eli took 4 yrs to produce. Give Clemens 4 yrs b4 u say he stinks. We already know Chad's arm is good... .... good in the pee wee league. Get Favre for today, Clemens for tomorrow"
Ryan D Said:
Wed, July 30, 2008 - 10:41pm EDT"Both of our quarterbacks are B to B- starters. The difference this year is the fact that we now have a solid O-Line. With the reemergence of a running game our receivers should be getting open more and we can put up some numbers whether it is a 25 yrd bomb that Chad has to ice his arm down for or a 50 yrd bomb Clemens might be able to complete. Either way…..CHHAAAMPIONSHHIP! or at least a winning season."

What made this team great with Chad under the helm in previous years(not last year) was the play calling and trick plays and his decision making. Last year the OC had no creativity and the play calling was horrible and Chad made a lot of bad throws. This year will be different I got faith in CP"
