05/02 — The Jets' rookie minicamp is under way. The draft choices, undrafted free agents and tryouts had meetings this morning, then went out for a morning practice that was not open to the media. The first access reporters will have to the Jets newbies will be during a 45-minute locker room session that begins soon after noon.

I won't wait that long to provide the list of the 10 undrafted free agents. These names, plus names of some of the tryouts, are contained in Eric Allen's twin stories on the offensive and defensive free agents that just went up on our news pages.

But with the last of the contracts signed this morning, we can now offer you "The List", complete with heights, weights and uniform numbers:

63–Brett Byford, C, Nebraska, 6'3", 300

39–Jehuu Caulcrick, RB, Michigan State, 6'0", 255

54–Kenwin Cummings, DE/ILB, Wingate, 6'2", 258

43–Nathan Lyles, S, Virginia, 6'0", 199

61–Bryan Mattison, DE, Iowa, 6'3", 272

42–Al Phillips, CB, Wagner, 5'11", 195

79–Ropati Pitoitua, DE, Washington State, 6'8", 290

2–Paul Raymond, WR, Brown, 5'10", 170

41–Justin Valentine, FB, Minnesota, 6'1", 230

35–Danny Woodhead, RB, Chadron State, 5'7", 195

This list is shorter than usual. Last year, for example, the Jets signed 14 undrafted free agents. That's because all NFL teams have an 80-player roster limit and this year, for the first time in a decade plus, there are no NFL Europe exemptions because there is no NFL Europe. With 64 veterans and six draft choices, the Green & White have 10 openings for this year's undrafted rookie class.

There are 50 rookies at this camp, including 34 tryout candidates, listed here with heights, weights and current uni numbers:

32–Joshua Abrams, RB, Ohio University, 6'0", 197

65–Viliami Akoteu, DL, Idaho State, 6'3", 340

30–Cory Anderson, FB, Tennessee, 6'3", 255

51–Wallace Artis, LB, Furman, 6'5", 268

40–Charles Bailey, CB, Kentucky State, 6'2", 208

10–William Bullard, WR, Texas A&M–Corpus Christi, 6'5", 215

22–Zach Catanese, S, Arizona State, 6'2", 230

49–Nelson Coleman, LB, Tulsa, 6'2", 235

50–Will Collins, LS, Southern Cal, 6'2", 220

20–Curtis Cutts, S, Central Michigan, 6'0", 210

11–John Dunlap, WR, North Carolina State, 6'1", 218

6–Patrick Fisher, P, LSU, 6'5", 238

78–Brandt Hollander, DL, Yale, 6'3", 285

84–Chris Hopkins, TE, Toledo, 6'5", 255

23–Kareem Huggins, RB, Hofstra, 5'8", 189

38–Nick Jarvis, LS, Wake Forest, 6'3", 250

45–Rodrick Johnson, LB, Oklahoma State, 6'3", 255

48–Brad Listorti, TE, Massachusetts, 6'4", 255

59–Chris McKillop, DL, Pittsburgh, 6'3", 265

77–Shawn McMackin, G, Hofstra, 6'3", 287

70–Tad Miller, G, Boise State, 6'4", 304

8–Mark Myers, K, Florida Atlantic, 6'2", 195

47–Karl Noa, DL, Hawaii, 6'4", 238

72–Jacob Owens, DL, Fairmont State, 6'4", 275

46–Blair Phillips, LB, Oregon, 6'1", 245

44–Paul Pratt, CB, Nevada, 5'10", 185

4–Charles Sullivan, WR, Hofstra, 6'1", 202

15–Marty Tadman, S, Boise State, 5'11", 182

31–Davanzo Tate, CB, Akron, 5'10", 185

67–David Thompson, NT, Massachusetts, 6'3", 310

69–Joseph Tuineau, T, Southeast Missouri State, 6'8", 280

19–Alan Turner, WR, Southern Illinois, 6''0", 200

29–Christian Varner, S, Maryland, 5'11", 205

17–Antwun Williams, WR, Virginia State, 6'2", 185

In addition, seven first-year Jets veterans are also participating in this camp. Three saw action last season — O-linemen Robert Turner and Clint Oldenburg and P Jeremy Kapinos. QB Brett Ratliff is also working out, as are WR David Ball, OL Stanley Daniels and former CFL DB Etienne Boulay.

We'll report back later today with planned features on the Jets' fourth- and fifth-round picks, CB Dwight Lowery and QB Erik Ainge, plus Radar entries on Jehuu Caulcrick's astonishing childhood story, on the afternoon practice with a focus on first-rounders Vernon Gholston and Dustin Keller, and on head coach Eric Mangini's late-afternoon news conference.

It's a full day and a full weekend. Stay with us for news and views from the Jets' rookie minicamp.

"I was just wondering how is John Dunlap doing in Training Camp? He had not so good years at NC State because of injuries. But with time to rest and to get right I know he should be hungry and just doing corner back dirty! Let me know."
