04/26 — It's only 10 minutes per first-round pick in this year's draft, but the Green & White used nine-plus minutes before making their choice with the No. 6 pick. Once the boos for "New England is on the clock," Commissioner Goodell came to the podium at Radio City Music Hall and announced, "OK, Jets fans..." When Goodell announced Vernon Gholston of Ohio State as the Jets' choice, the draftnik mezzanine erupted, but in a good way. And soon some chants broke out: "VER-non GHOL-ston!" Thus the Jets accomplished everything with one pick. They added the player many draft experts had linked them with for the last several months. They took a potential top pass rusher for the defense they've been building with the additions of LB Calvin Pace and DT Kris Jenkins. They kept Gholston away from the Patriots. And with Gholston and his family having just left the stage to do the multitude of media stops fopr the rest of this day, it was just announced that the Pats traded their No. 7 pick to New Orleans. I'll report back when I catch up with Gholston, either at SNY's next-door studios or at the Jets draft day party at Dave & Buster's in Times Square.

Sat, April 26, 2008 - 4:15pm EDT"Your way wrong Jim, it isn't a coincidence that the Patsies traded their 1st pick as soon as the Jets drafted Gholston. And then they take a LB at 10. We were taking Gholston or McFadden depending on who was still there, we didn't draft him to keep him from NE. He fills our biggest need. YEAH baby!!"
Rob Said:
Sat, April 26, 2008 - 4:28pm EDT"You're crazy Jim, we did not waste the pick, do you actually think that we picked Gholston so that NE would not take him?, we took the player that WE needed. "

Sat, April 26, 2008 - 4:46pm EDT"Its amazing how some Jet fans are never happy. Who did you want to pick Jim. We took the best player that translates to our defense. Plus not to steal Ray's line but why do you think the Pats traded out and then picked a LB at 10? Wake up Jimbo!! "

MikeMc Said:
Sat, April 26, 2008 - 5:05pm EDT"The Jets could have easily traded with N.O.they believe as I do Golston can be a playmaker on the next level. New Eng. was definatly taking V.G. if you think otherwise your foolish. V.G. will probably play on passing downs only to start his career, be patient eveyone he's young and raw in many areas but has the athletic ability to be a star. I'm glad DMC was gone ,we were not drafting him anyway."
Vaughn Said:
Sat, April 26, 2008 - 5:08pm EDT"GREAT PICK. I was worried for a second we'd have to take Glenn Dorsey and be left without a pass rusher, but the Chiefs let Gholston go. With Jenkins and Gholston our D is gonna be SIC THIS YEAR. AHHHHH"
Ira Said:
Sat, April 26, 2008 - 5:12pm EDT"Congrats to Gholston and nice job Mr.T. They took the best available player at that point. between Pace,Thomas and Gholston i expect to see the QB's on the ground. On to RD#2. GO JETS!!!!"
Frank Said:
Sat, April 26, 2008 - 5:15pm EDT"I am definitely pumped up. Gohlston was my man before the Pace signing I was afraid that signing was going to torpedo this pick. I will cut Tangini some slack....for a few minutes anyway. Yeahhhhh Baby! "

Sat, April 26, 2008 - 5:30pm EDT"We too a guy our salary cap did not need. Rip me all you want folks, how many outside lb's making stupid money can we have before we can only pay a QB 2-3M a year? We're stuck with BT for at least another year. Even then we're gonna take a 8-9M cap hit in 2009. I used to think we were awesome dealing with the salary cap, USED TO! Gholston is not worth 5-6M a year. We really blew it."
Alan Said:
Sat, April 26, 2008 - 5:31pm EDT"I want mike jenkins to fall to us in round 2 !!!!!!! and i agree with all fo you about gholston being a beast lets go jets wooo"
Jim Said:
Sat, April 26, 2008 - 5:37pm EDT"Has anyone read what this guys story is from college? Rip me all you want, but remember you forgot to put Tangini in his place for this one. We should have traded down, nobody was worth the cash these wannabees are gonna get this year. I praised Tangini last year and nobody ripped me, but this year, please! Watch the tape on our draft pics, then you might see why I'm not alone on these rejects."
Ray Said:
Sat, April 26, 2008 - 5:49pm EDT"First off Jim, you got ripped because you think the Jets drafted a player just to keep him from "Boston". That wasn't the case. As for the money, you aren't going to draft ANYONE in the top 6 and not pay stupid money, especially a qb. 2-3 mil a year? HA, that's a good one! They can dump or trade BT just like they did with D Rob this year. BTW who would you rather they picked?"
Frank Said:
Sat, April 26, 2008 - 5:53pm EDT"Hey Jim that's right watch the tape. Gohlston took Jake Long to school 2 years in a row. The guy is a monster he will beat you with finesse or bull rush and he is extremely fast he is gonna be a beast if Jenkins plays well in the middle. Jared Allen just got 31 Mil guaranteed pass rushers are expensive and worth their weight in gold. Defensively we will match up extremely well with the Pats now."
CEDRIC Said:
Sat, April 26, 2008 - 5:57pm EDT"Who would you have Pick Jim? You would let NE get another pass rusher? I not even gonna bother to rip you, you have a right to your opinion, but i think we did a good job so far..."
Alan Said:
Sat, April 26, 2008 - 5:58pm EDT"Im watching gholston highlights and im lovin it he hits hard and knows how to get to hitting and hes a hybrid like calvin pace so people going to being attention to calvin pace and harris while gholston knocking everyone out "
Charlie Said:
Sat, April 26, 2008 - 6:04pm EDT"Looks like there might be some big WR's available at #36. Doubt NO had the same offer on the table for us b/c the guy they wanted was Dorsey. Look at what they gave NE to get Ellis, nowhere near the reported KC offer."
Chris C Said:
Sat, April 26, 2008 - 6:09pm EDT"Gholston is an excellent pick! This guy could be the Lawrence Taylor, who knows? How can we rip him or the Jets? He was the best pick available! I like the pick, I think time will tell, but yes, our D is going to be much better, and so is our O line!!! "
Alan Said:
Sat, April 26, 2008 - 6:15pm EDT"Yeah were going to have a WR fall for us. I like brad smith but hes a good player for trick plays not really a slot reciever liek hes been playing, I would like us to get Sweed, Jackson, or Thomas because looks like nobody thinks this wr draft got depth go look at desean jacksons tapes hes only dropped 11 passes in his 3 ssns btw hes small but got speed routes and can catch beyond belief"
charlie Said:
Sat, April 26, 2008 - 6:30pm EDT"Guess Baker isn't getting a new contract. Don't like the move. Too much available where we were and we typically do well with 4th round picks."
Alan Said:
Sat, April 26, 2008 - 6:30pm EDT"Well we got DUSTIN KELLER!!! not really what i wanted but his TE stats look better then Vernon Davis well looks like were getting rid of Chris Baker look for some 2nd round picks being traded for him hopefully but looks like bubba franks and Dustin Keller are our future"
Ray Said:
Sat, April 26, 2008 - 6:34pm EDT"WHY???!!! Keller? We just had to stay put and we had one of the top receivers. Hell, we could have stayed put and had Keller! I am not thrilled that we gave up an extra pick for this. At least it wasn't Henne!!!"
Drew Said:
Sat, April 26, 2008 - 6:36pm EDT"WOW....We just traded up for D Keller!!!! I love the pick but that takes a set to trade up for a TE. This kid has wheels and the best hands in the draft. Tell Chris Baker he just lost his leverage and get his taik back to work!"

I do question the trade for the TE he would have been there at 36 so why the trade! Lets get some more good players and not make any more stupid trades!"
Jim Said:
Sat, April 26, 2008 - 6:47pm EDT"Ok folks, just think of it, we're now paying 15M a sack, if we can hope that high. We have 3 OLB's getting as much cash as the real LT did, who combined will not equal him. We'd do better with 5 3rd rounders than what we got. We screwed our cap more than we improved the team. Go ahead, hate me, then sober up and look at what we have."
Ira Said:
Sat, April 26, 2008 - 6:48pm EDT"Great job Mr. T going to get Keller. Excellent move Keller will stretch the field and be like a WR for them. Maybe they trade Baker for a 2nd day pick now."
Dunnie Said:
Sat, April 26, 2008 - 6:52pm EDT"Ok .. i just watched Keller's highlight reel on Youtube ... two words .... Fast and Beast. Hope it works out. hes got awesome hands."
Frank Said:
Sat, April 26, 2008 - 6:52pm EDT"Tangini feels confident the blocking up front is going to be good. Keller is a zero for blocking. I like the idea of keeping Coles and Cotchery on the field with the guy. He reminds me of Dallas Clarke if he plays like him it will be great for us. Franks and Baker are the same type of player I can't imagine we will carry both. Baker is gone hopefully for a pick this year."
Jim Said:
Sat, April 26, 2008 - 6:53pm EDT"Keller is a better pick than Ghoulston. This guy plays every single down. It's also what the JETS need. Not some once in a while player. Keller will make the ProBowl, Ghoulston will not. "
CEDRIC Said:
Sat, April 26, 2008 - 6:57pm EDT"Bye BAKER, atheletic weapon in Dustin Keller, I dont agree in trading up, but they may have known something that we didnt. I like it, OFFENSE!!"
Dunnie Said:
Sat, April 26, 2008 - 7:00pm EDT"Hey Jim ... I hope Keller is as good as he looks. Oh yeah ... and on Gholston ... you could not be more wrong. Wait and see ... he will dominate in our scheme."
Drew Said:
Sat, April 26, 2008 - 7:03pm EDT"Not sure if we needed to give up a 4th but really love this pick. This kid will really stretch the field (more than the WR's would) plus who do not have to hope he will catch the ball, his hands are glue. Does put a huge smile on my face that we drafted all Big Ten so far.....just as I predicted.....By the way D Jackson not drafted yet and were at pick 39...another correct prediction. He stinks!!"
Drew Said:
Sat, April 26, 2008 - 7:06pm EDT"I just saw Baker running back to workouts. Talk about a guy losing leverage in a NY minute. He should fire his agent. A nice TE coming off an okay year and he is going to make salary demands?? We should give Keller #86"
HATER Said:

D.RAZZ Said:
Sat, April 26, 2008 - 7:19pm EDT"They drafted him as a TE, but they will play him as a rec. Think of him as a larger Chrebet. Hope he knows he can't have his college number. Great pick!"
CEDRIC Said:
Sat, April 26, 2008 - 7:24pm EDT"Ok Jim U have made your point, nobody goin to argue with you, no player is perfect comin out of college, U obviously believe that Gholstons mentality will stay the same throughout his entire career n that he will not learn to give it his all B'cuz he gettin paid n a Title can be one the line. If all they can say about him is that he may quit on a play, then I think we can fix that."
Ray Said:
Sat, April 26, 2008 - 7:27pm EDT"Well HATER, if we drafted Gohlsoton we sure would've been robbed. I can't even find that guy, where did he play? Next time, fake it and try to sound intelligent, bonehead."

And by the way all you pats fans need to post on your site Oh! my bad u can't post on your website my bad! Jets rule! pats drool!"
Everett Said:
Sat, April 26, 2008 - 7:37pm EDT"why would you give up 2 picks for another tight end. When you should gave up something to move up with the first pick."
Ray Said:
Sat, April 26, 2008 - 7:39pm EDT"WOW!! $15 mil per sack?? If we get too many our cap is SCREWED!!! We shoulda left our defense alone, no pressure on the qb, teams run all over us. Jim quit looking at money. We are under the cap. And you can't compare eras. There was only one LT (on def.). I don't care if he does end up a bust, 10 years from now I will still think that was the right pick."
Alan Said:
Sat, April 26, 2008 - 7:41pm EDT"I cant believe all these bad things im hearing about gholston watch midway through the season and hes beasting up ppl gonna wish they aint saying what they are and im amazed that some the recievers arent getting picked (sweed, manningham, kelly, jackson)"

Sat, April 26, 2008 - 7:52pm EDT"..anybody whining about this draft is retarded...we needed a pass rusher in the 3-4 that can be versatile in positions and someone to beat up the middle of the field in Dustin. Hes got size and used to play WR, plus with Baker whining we are secure. Great draft, it was worth the fourth rounder to ensure tying up the best TE in the draft who might play WR???"
Nic Said:
Sat, April 26, 2008 - 7:57pm EDT"I'm so glad we got Gholston without having to trade up! He will give us a pass rush that we haven't had since the Gastineau/Sack Exchange days! Couldn't be anymore excited about our off-season pickups and the draft so far! GO JETS!!!!!!!!! "
Pete Said:
Sat, April 26, 2008 - 8:17pm EDT"A little shocked by the TE but it seems as if none of the teams were sold on the WR crop and all of the decent CB's were long gone. Love the Gholston pick-up as he will have an immediate impact, even if he is just rushing the passer on third and long. You know he won't take those plays off! Let's see if we can get a WR or safety that has a chance of doing something with that 4th rounder. "
CEDRIC Said:
Sat, April 26, 2008 - 9:08pm EDT"I said it first, Kellen to Keller, TOUCHDOWN!!!"
Ira Said:
Sat, April 26, 2008 - 9:12pm EDT"Day 1 grade A-. Great day filled 2 needs and now tomorrow lets see if they can add some depth in certain spots. Expext Poteat to be resigned now. Jets over the last since 2001 have drafted 12 Big Ten players."
Tom Spicer Said:
Sat, April 26, 2008 - 9:12pm EDT"I am very happy with our 1st round pick will fill our # 1 need & get a pass rusher who is supposed to be a stud also we do not have to worry about Ryan McFadden or Long & how there careers go we will have no woulda coulda shoulda deal cause Ryan Long & McFadden were gone when we picked we had to take Gholston he was the best pass rusher left & if we would have taken a db I would have lost it"
Frank Said:
Sat, April 26, 2008 - 9:12pm EDT"Jim you have no idea what you are talking about Keller is not an every down player he is not a blocker. He will compliment Bubba perfectly we will use in him motion alot to get LB and Safety matchups which he will dominate. We can also line him up in the slot I would love to see him coming across the middle like Chrebet on steroids. A little unconventional but he is the big receiver we needed."
scjoe Said:
Sat, April 26, 2008 - 9:15pm EDT"They made the correct pick at #6. Even if McFadden were there, Gholston was the right pick, he fills a need and there are NO character issues to be concerned with. I would have loved to see one of the three WR taken at #36 and save the draft pick, but overall happy with the picks so far."
Frank Said:
Sat, April 26, 2008 - 9:17pm EDT"We need to sign Poteat here pretty quickly. With the Gohlston pick a stud CB is not a necessity. We do need safety help and another receiver I also see a late round QB pick. "
Tom Spicer Said:
Sat, April 26, 2008 - 9:27pm EDT"The 2nd round I can not understand the pick our biggest need at that point was a corner DeJaun Tribble & Chevis Jackson where there if we stay put or make the trade & take Brandon Flowers Also Limas Sweed & DeSean Jackson if we wanted to take a 3rd WR & eventual replacement for Coles & we could have got Chad Henne & Brian Brohm & now we have no 2nd 3rd & 5th round picks "
Steve B Said:
Sat, April 26, 2008 - 9:30pm EDT"DRazz I see it just like you. A much bigger Chrebet with lots of YAC. I think it is a great pick!! It will free LC and Cotchery. You may see franks,Baker, keller, LC and cotch on some downs. GO JETS !!!!!!!!!"
briguyintampa Said:
Sat, April 26, 2008 - 9:33pm EDT"Ghoul is the man. Heard a comment from one of his former teamates saying that whatever Vernon said he would do on gameday, he would do. In other words, if he wants it he takes it. He plays big in big games and in the NFL, they are all big games. I am hoping that he can fill the void that a healthy John Abraham left behind. And lastly, Jim, just go away. "
Matt Said:
Sat, April 26, 2008 - 9:43pm EDT"Love the gholsten pick bc it fills a huge need...how many times before the steelers game last year did we all watch the oppossing quarterback sit back in the pocket all day and pick us apart. the Keller trade i thought right away was bad but if no WR was taken in the first round obviously the crop was not that good. overall i am happy with the draft and off season as a whole right now"
Frank Said:
Sat, April 26, 2008 - 9:45pm EDT"This was another pick that creates matchup problems for the Pats. With their aging LB core Keller is going to be a load on these guys who have to chase him all over the field. He has the speed to go deep this guys talent is going to be wasted if Clemens is not the QB."
Tom Spicer Said:
Sat, April 26, 2008 - 9:46pm EDT"Unless the Jets take a corner with there 4th round pick they are signing Ty Law or Hank Poteat there is no way they are going into next year with just Barrett & Miller WE NEED A CORNER ! Also does this 2nd round pick mean that they are starting Kellen most young QB'S need a good TE as a saftey blanket or do they think this TE Keller is going to be a stud "
CEDRIC Said:
Sat, April 26, 2008 - 9:55pm EDT"Keller is like Dallas Clark, Sharp! And with the Cap space we got from the D-Rob deal we should be able to Resign Poteat, Spicer and Crew dont Panic, the 4th round is where we find our GEMs anyway, Rhodes, Washington, and also there will be a TON of undrafted kid who work hard as hell too. I proud of these guys for the job on Day 1"
Jim Said:
Sat, April 26, 2008 - 10:06pm EDT"Ok Frank, I never post against you, but today is different. Baker quit the team as far as I'm concerned. We drafted his replacement. Keller will be an every down TE in our system. Not only does he play his heart out, but he can do it all. He's like a huge Chrebet. No disrespect, but he will be the pick of the draft for us."
CEDRIC Said:
Sat, April 26, 2008 - 10:22pm EDT"Ok Jim isnt as Foolish as i thought, you dont go against Frank, If he likes of all people like these picks so far then we can all Cheer!! I just wanna see it al Gel together now, i hope they use these weapons right."
Frank Said:
Sat, April 26, 2008 - 10:38pm EDT"Jim I love the Keller pick read my blogs. What I was disagreeing with is your saying he will be the better pick than Gohlston and that he will be an everydown player which he won't be because he has zero blocking skills especially not what is required by a TE. But we can line him up anywhere on the field he has versatility which is something Tangini loves. Cedric plageurizing me again with Clarke."
Frank Said:
Sat, April 26, 2008 - 10:47pm EDT"Actually Seattle is probably feeling pretty stupid right now. It was believed that Keller would end up there I think they traded down in the first thinking they would get him later. This actually might be another potential landing spot for Baker. We don't need to trade him because he does have a very friendly cap number but logic dictates if the right deal is there we make it."
CJJET Said:
Sat, April 26, 2008 - 10:52pm EDT"I can live with the fact that we took a TE. But trading up for him when everyone knew the Giants were going to draft a safety or linebacker and nobody before pick 36 wanted a TE. WHY, WHY give up a draft pick. Does Tangini actually think the Jets are a couple of players away from the Superbowl. If we keep getting just 2 players from the draft we will never reach the top. What a disaster!"
john de Said:
Sat, April 26, 2008 - 10:53pm EDT"Frank, Vernon strengthens our front 7,giving Sutton the missing link we've lacked for a pass rush. Round 2 was a disaster for us. We needed another corner to solidify the back 4.To move up and not grab a corner is a shame.A TE to stretch the D is nice, but he's not the gamebreaker we needed."
brendan Said:
Sat, April 26, 2008 - 11:37pm EDT"i really like the Gholston pick at 6...to me, there were 3 players that would have worked here (mcfadden, long, and gholston)...thankfully, 1 of the 3 fell to us at 6...and he happens to fill a huge need opposite the newly acquire pace..."
s337 Said:
Sat, April 26, 2008 - 11:40pm EDT"Don't know why they had to move up to grab Keller. I do think he will be ridiculous in the slot though, going over the middle and stretching the field."

Sun, April 27, 2008 - 12:16am EDT"jets are fools for trading up to get a TE, but i love the pick.trade baker to the saints for a 5th pick. we should have traded to get Justin King. hes going to be good."
zartan Said:
Sun, April 27, 2008 - 12:55am EDT"Kevin O'conell is our brady.we have to get a 5th pick so we can get this guy.would also like the jets to get the RB Parmele.cant believe thy gave up a pick QB is the only position that scares me and they havnt address it yet.along with the CB not that were bad at the position.J.King and Charles Godfry is still there.get king"
Metch NYJ Said:
Sun, April 27, 2008 - 1:13am EDT"Only time will tell if moving up to get Keller was a good move. Personally, I think we got a steal! Do your research on this guy. Getting this guy was huge. I cant believe we pulled that off. "
Kevin Said:
Sun, April 27, 2008 - 1:25am EDT"I agree with zartan but notice conner and king are both still there both from the big ten and both amazing players king is fast but needs to be trained a year or so but he will be a great player conner can step in and make plays if he is there in the 4th take him it will give us better depth and a younger ILB group I can just imagine him and harris in a couple years I'd feel sry for the RB's"
Xavion Said:
Sun, April 27, 2008 - 5:06am EDT"Looks like the nfl agreed with me when I said No wr in this draft was worth a first rnd pick, and that the best wr was Devin Thomas. I think this was a great first day. Gholston will be a force. For those questioning why the jets moved to 30 is because the pack was set to take Keller. I thought they were moving up for Thomas though. I think the Jets see better hands on Keller. "
Xavion Said:
Sun, April 27, 2008 - 5:10am EDT"I dont see any reason to dump Baker yet Id still use him and put keller in the slot. Then that would technically leave 4 recvg options teams would have to defend for in that formation and If B Smith is at QB and TJ or Leon in the back, the "d" wouldn't know what to do with that skill set. Versitility is the Name of the Game. "
Xavion Said:
Sun, April 27, 2008 - 5:16am EDT"Also remember We still Have Darelle Revis, Justin Miller, Drew Coleman, David Barret, Andre Woolfolk. So we have Some people that would be just the same amount of untapped talent as a draft prospect in terms of miller and Coleman. So lets not kill them for not taking one yet. Im sure they will get to it. "

But negative people always try to put a spin on it. I love the pick and think Keller will cause all type of matchup problems for defenses. Chad/Clemens will love throwing to Keller. GO JETS!!!!"

It shows the lack of football savvy this Organization constantly demonstrates. The TE will be ok but what good will any reciever/TE do if we have 0 ability to get the ball to them? Bad pick by the Jets. They coulda nabbed a good Corner which is a more pressing need. Or a RB or QB. "

Sun, April 27, 2008 - 8:13am EDT"The QBs arent the best this class, they are giving Kellen one more shot to ride this season and there will be a flood of New QB at the of 08. He Deserves it B'Cuz the support is there now. Alot of CB are left i hope we can get into the 3rd by trading Baker so we can grab a CB, and a ILB in the 4th, maybe dan connor falls?"

Sun, April 27, 2008 - 8:43am EDT"Bottom line is we are still stuck with Chad "rainbow" Pennington and Clemens . WE WILL NEVER MAKE IT TO THE PLAYOFFS WITH THESE GUYS. Our defense might put up more points than our offense if the Jets are smart enough and get a CB."

Sun, April 27, 2008 - 9:33am EDT"I cant wait to see the Patriots faces when we line up 2 TE with TJ in the back field and Keller runs down the seam eating up those horribly old LB's. I think we reached a little but rumor was Seattle was coming up to Miami's 2nd round pick to get him. There is still a ton of talent left for our 4th rounder..... Frank sounds like you might be taking a small sip of the Tangini Kool-Aid. Welcome!!"

Sun, April 27, 2008 - 9:51am EDT"Tangini please do not get RID of Baker, you seem to be building a good team, but we still need Baker BADLY to help BLOCK fo our QB/RB, otherwise we will be back to square one, even with a revamped OL.Keep Baker for blocking purposes for another year, dont be foolish and release this guy. Do a Ocho Cinco to him."
Pete Said:
Sun, April 27, 2008 - 10:04am EDT"There weren't any corners worth taking left on the board when we picked. We will have no idea if giving up the 4 was worth it as we don't know if anybody would've taken Keller. We needed an offensive playmaker and he was the best talent on the board. Nobody was sold on any of those wide receivers. Solid pass catching TE is just what KC needs. Get me a sfatey or WR in 4th round."

Sun, April 27, 2008 - 10:10am EDT"I love it Drew you and Cedric stealing all my information do you own homework. Actually Drew I am going to be Mangini's worse nightmare if he screws this all up. For the guys who keep critisizing the Jets for moving up that's legitimate we could have stayed put and drafted Hardy who is the guy I targeted for our 2nd pick. The Bills picked him at 41. Keller is an unconventional WR pick."

Sun, April 27, 2008 - 10:57am EDT"I think theyre going to give Miller a chance at corner remember miller was going to be a starter corner last season but got injured and if you watch his gametape from clemson hes pretty good so dont forget to easily we also signed andre woolfolk whod be a good 3rd man corner. Also were getting rid of baker bubba franks can block, unless theyre planning on makeing Dustin a slot wr. Jets!!"
Frank Said:
Sun, April 27, 2008 - 11:00am EDT"There is no way Tangini could've taken it that Frank got the first 2 picks pegged so they moved up to grab Keller!"

So u can take no credit on my football knowledge. And if Mangini screws this up then you have all right to rip, we are not a champion team yet, but we must be better than last year."

Sun, April 27, 2008 - 11:54am EDT"You know the Giants were picking Keller if they had a wink-wink deal in place for Shocky , Tangini loved this kid , he can fly, atrue sure-handed threat down the field ,he will not be blocking much. Why would you want Sweed we already had Mccarrins to drop passes. Kelly has baggage and Jackson is a head case. We did fine but probably didn't have to trade upbeing Shocky wasnt dealt to New Orleans."

Sun, April 27, 2008 - 12:33pm EDT"Xavion if the Pack was going to pick Keller they would never have swapped with us without the understanding that we wouldn't take him. But obviously they think one of the next teams was. I really liked Beau Bell, we could've had him but traded our 4th to the Pack. Barton is getting old, he would've been a nice replacement on the inside."

It's not like either one can play DE in a 3-4, so now we are stacked at Will, but what does that mean for Bryan Thomas? "
Randy Lange Said:
Sun, April 27, 2008 - 2:16pm EDT"Dan 47, Mike Tannenbaum said in his ESPN interview this morning: "We feel Vernon is a complete player. He had 22½ sacksat Ohio State, 30½ tackles for loss. We saw him stop the run and also drop into coverage. So with Bryan Thomas, Calvin Pace and David Bowens, we like the depth at outside linebacker.""
Johnny Cool Said:
Sun, April 27, 2008 - 5:15pm EDT"Gholston was about the only thing we did right this draft, a no brainer. I thought we reached with Keller. I heard a rumor that we were going to make a move on Flacco till the Ravens took him. At least we could have had a QB with an arm cause Ainge certainly doesn't have one. There were several other CB's and WR's many people had ranked higher then the one's we picked. Trade Down=Nowhere."
