09/30 — Ben Graham's introduction to American football included some extreme weather conditions in that stadium up in Orchard Park, N.Y.
"My first year it was incredibly cold," said the former Australian Rules star turned NFL punter. "My second year it was incredibly windy. The other day my daughter told me the weather report for Buffalo was for snow flurries."
Graham's daughter was pulling his leg, although snow is always a reasonable assumption for the Bills' home games. But the actual weather report was for mostly sunny skies and temperatures in the low 70s, and so far this morning that forecast is on the money.
Temps are in the upper sixties and the orange strips had been hanging straight down from the tops of the goalposts. Beautiful day for a Jets-Bills game.
Graham has hit some magical drop punts and Mike Nugent has been drilling his warmup field goal tries out of Graham's hold — although the wind kicked up as a reminder just as Nuge tried a 50-yarder from the right hashmarks that hit the right upright. But Nugent adjusted and put his ensuing 50-yarder down the middle.
Chad Pennington, Kellen Clemens and Marques Tuiasosopo just ran out ahead of the other position players, and while it's impossible to tell, Pennington's ankle, while still wrapped beneath his socks, doesn't seem to be bothering him as he runs to midfield and does some stretching and then some throwing to "Tui."
For the third time this season and the third time in four years at Buffalo, the Jets are wearing their white jerseys and white pants. The Jets always wear their white tops up here because the Bills go with their dark blue unis, but in '94, '03 and '05 they wore green pants.
The Jets' inactives are CB Drew Coleman, FB Darian Barnes, LB Cody Spencer, O-linemen Will Montgomery and Jacob Bender, DE Mike DeVito and TE Jason Pociask. Tuiasosopo is the third quarterback.
For Buffalo, QB J.P. Losman has been deactivated as expected due to the knee injury he suffered last week vs. New England. The other inactives are LB-S Coy Wire, CB Jerametrius Butler, LB Keith Ellison, TE Matt Murphy and DEs Ryan Denney and Copeland Bryan. RB Fred Jackson has been designated the Bills' third QB.

"We gotta improve..." are you kidding me? You had a whole off season to do that. The games count now. Its not a "long season" when you are in the AFC, especially in the East. Guess what? 12 games left...how long til we improve?"

I mean I love the kid , hes a warrior and has put his body on the line for us, but hes got no ARM! We could have won all of these games if we had a quarterback that had an arm! Look at the Buffalo game, his head was in the right place, but his arm couldn't follow through!"
