File Under: draft, New York City, Radio City Music Hall, 2007 NFL Draft

04/28 — Where else but New York City in late April can you see Peyton Manning, Jonathan Vilma, Brett Favre and Donovan McNabb strolling around midtown?

At least I thought it was those guys. They were in their game unis. But come to think of it, Manning looked like he let himself go since the Super Bowl, Vilma looked small and pale, McNabb had green hair and Favre shaved his head. Maybe they were just draftniks headed for Radio City Music Hall.

Does anyone think Roger Goodell looks like Conan O'Brien? And that's not a bad thing. The draft is becoming ever more show-bizzy.

This was especially true of the Raiders' first pick of JaMarcus Russell, who didn't come out of the wings for several minutes, with the Lions on the clock, building the anticipation like a combined heavyweight fight intro and hip-hop after party entrance.

Is there anything better than an NFL event combined with loud NFL Films Music? "A New Game" indeed!

No Jets rumblings yet, but they're coming.

"How great was it that the Dolphins passed on Brady. We already have one Brady to do deal with in the division, we didn't need another. "
