10/15 — Who has the greatest fans in the NFL?! That’s right. J-E-T-S, JETS, JETS, JETS!! I am so excited for Sunday’s game vs. Buffalo. Let’s rock the stadium and bring the noise!!

So here we are again, another great start to an amazing Jets season! The holidays will be here before you know it, but for the Flight Crew, we don’t wait until the holidays to give back!

Many fans ask what else we are doing when we are not dancing on the sidelines. All of the girls on the Flight Crew are amazingly talented, bright and educated women who are either attending college or in a career. In between work, rehearsals and games, we always make time to give back to the community.

The Jets organization is very passionate about the Alliance for Lupus Research Foundation. Mr. Woody Johnson serves at the chairman and is very active in raising funds to prevent, treat and cure autoimmune diseases.

Many people are not aware of lupus and the effect it has on people who suffer from it. My best friend was recently diagnosed with lupus over the summer. Not only is she a beautiful and talented dancer, she’s like a sister to me.

Having someone so close affected by the disease has given me a real incentive to raise awareness. Flight Crew members Jennifer, Lauren P. and myself will be attending the Alliance for Lupus Research Walk on Sunday, Oct. 24, in NYC. You can visit the ALR Website for more information!

This is just one of the many charity events the Flight Crew takes part in. Jessica S. and Laura D. recently attended the Matheny Golf and Tennis Classic, which benefited children with special needs.

Last month a few of the cheerleaders and I attended the City to Sand 100 Mile Man Foundation, which provides college scholarships to qualified inner-city students. We cheered on all of the bikers as they crossed the finish line. 100 miles is a huge accomplishment, and it is for such a great cause! Giving young adults a college education is something that can never be taken away.

Early in the summer the whole Flight Crew attended the Boomer Esiason Foundation event held at Hofstra University to help raise money to fight Cystic Fibrosis. We also welcomed home troops from Iraq at the Sovereign Bank Arena in Trenton, N.J. The soldiers were so excited to be back in the States, and it was great to be a part of welcoming home the people who fight to protect us and our country.

In addition, we visit Children’s Hospitals as well, and every year we attend the Marty Lyons Foundation event right before Christmas. Visiting the children is precious. Giving a hug puts a smile on their face, and making them laugh … well, that is priceless. Feeling like you made a difference is the best gift I could receive. It has made me realize you can spread cheer on and off the field.

Being a member of the Jets organization has really enriched my life. I am grateful to be a Jets cheerleader. It is so rewarding to touch the lives of so many. Remember, it is better to give than to receive, so don’t wait for the holidays to make a difference!

Also, October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month! Don’t forget to go for a yearly screening. Show your support and visit the Jets Shop for Breast Cancer Awareness gear and wear it to the next game!

See all of you Sunday! Go JETS!
